The Ministry of Culture supported the participation of 23 artisan at Natah's Artisanal and Folkloric Festival 500 years that was held on Friday 11 and Saturday 12 March at Natá's central square, a Cocoa district.

The Artesanal Vereda forms part of the activities that are undertaken as part of the celebration of the 500 years of the Founding of this town.

Crafts from different points of the province of Coclé will have an opportunity to display and market their designs made from wood, paints, hats, goldsmiths and folkloric dresses such as necks and nightshirts.

Jaime Luna, director of crafts at the Ministry of Culture, noted that it's an honor for the institution to be an integral part of organized activities as part of this celebration.

He added that the date with this type of activity represents "a space that allows us to shed our roots and consolidate the legacy that makes us Panamanian and gives us an identity."

Luna brought the message from the Minister Giselle González I congratulate the Organizing Committee and the authorities of this district for their motivation, commitment and dedication to events and activities.

Natá is the second oldest town founded by Spanish people on the peaceful coast of our continent and the summit date of the celebration will be next May 20.

The mayor of Natha, Tomas ArRocha, and his deputy Governor Issac Quiroz and other authorities from the province participated in the opening.

Natá is the only town built in Spanish colonial time that remains at the original site of its foundation, hence its historic importance in the construction of Panamanian nationality and to rescue this bulwark is part of the work that the government team jointly has. After two years of pandemic, MiCultura is supporting the country's artisans so that they can inject income into their homes.
