Panama May 31, 2026 - The Central Park of Pedasi became the stage of the first version of Jazz Experience 2026, a musical meeting that brought together local groups, gender exponents and youth groups in the province of Los Santos.

The event, organized by the National Directorate of the Arts of the Ministry of Culture of Panama (MiCultura), convened residents and visitors at a day that united root music with jazz structures in public space.
The initiative forms part of the strategies for decentralizing the state's artistic offer and was developed with technical and logistic support from the Mayor of Pedasi and the Tourism Authority of Panama (ATP), institutions that coordinated efforts to diversify cultural activity and the attraction of visitors to the interior of the country.

The day was attended by the Minister of Culture, María Eugenia Herrera, the national director of the arts, Gianni Bianchini, the mayor of Pedasi, Miguel Batista, the provincial manager of the ATP, Daniel Pérez and the former President of the Republic, Mireya Moscoso.

The musical opening was conducted by the Senir Tableños group, directed by Professor Euclides Ballesteros, who integrated elements of local folklore with jazz harmonies. Kandall & the Chowmein Band then presented a repertoire focused on reggae and Latin rhythms, followed by the proposal of contemporary jazz and improvisation of Milagros Blades Quartit, a group led by the Panamanian percussionist with Gabriel Moran, Eduardo Heredia and Edwin Ávila.

The program continued with the intervention of Papin's Jazz Band, a Latino jazz quintet directed by master Roberto "Papín" Florez, a teacher at the University of Panama.

The activity was performed with an examination at 10
National and international artists that work with the creation of ten mural models that are inspired by the essence, traditions and natural wealth of Pedasi.

The activity was closed by the Grand Band Advanced of Panama's Network of Orquestas and Children's and Youth's Choirs, a social program that serves children and formal youth in the country. Fitted by master Alejandro Castillo, students from the Panama Center module performed pieces of blues, classical jazz and tropical music adaptation in a great band format.

The next edition of Jazz experience will be held at Boquete in September.
