Panama May 31, 2026 - The Pedasi District successfully completed the first phase of the community project "Pedasi Colorido: Ruta de Murales," an initiative that for six days transformed its main streets into a great gallery of outdoor art. From 25 to 30 May, ten local, national and international artists built into their works the essence of the region: its folklore, its gastronomy, its traditions and its marine wealth.

) The Minister of Culture, María Eugenia Herrera, mayor Miguel Batista, and Daniel Perez, provincial director of the Panama Tourism Authority and the Community Committee Pedasi Colorido, chaired by Dixa Moscoso have been travelling through the mural circuit to interplay with the creators, to get to know the background of each piece and to highlight the direct impact that urban art brings to regional identity and tourism.

) The day allowed authorities to share with and support this initiative that seeks to embellish public spaces through citizen participation.

"The Mural Rod" is an expression of our identity, our history and everything that makes Pedasi special, "Mayor Miguel Batista said." That project shows what we can achieve when the community, private enterprise and institutions work united for the cultural and tourist development of our district. "

"For her part, the Minister of Culture commended the talent of the creators and the social impact of the initiative:
"Spaces such as this show the transformative power of art in communities. To see reflected the artisan work of the motete, the production of shivering, the artisan fishing and the biodiversity of our coasts on these walls, not only embellish the urban environment but safeguard our intangible heritage and generate profound collective pride. From the National Government we will continue to support these cultural ecosystems that energize tourism and the local economy."

"Each work offers a unique narrative and includes Jasson Saenz's outstanding mural and a tribute to the traditional production of the motor with inspiration from Purio's artisan, Gonzalo Herrera Herrera.

Also, Ariel Castillo ("Sirenita") dedicated his space to the delicacy of the folkloric tremks, while Sharif Moreno ("Shar") and Pamela Pérez reflected his close relationship with the sea, artisan fishing and the urgency of seawater conservation.

The circuit also includes oniric and contemporary visions, such as the "Surrealist Folk" by Sergio Smith ("Mengagos"), the environmental harmony of Membache, the mysticism of Jimmo's time and sea and the folklore joy of Aleks.
