Panama, April 19, 2026. More than 50 students from the Romanian Institute and the American University participated in a cleanup day organized by the office of the Casco Antiguo of the Ministry of Culture at three beaches of the Historic Center of Panama, while collecting more than 75 bags of waste.

Retiring waste included fabrics, cans, aluminium, foam, sachets and parts of cars, showing the impact of pollution on these coastal areas.

The activity, held in commemoration of the International Day of Monuments and Sites and the Day of the Earth, was supported by the Aseo Authority, which provided logistic accompaniment for the proper disposal of the collected waste. The jobs focused on Las Monjas beach, Santo Domingo beach and La Soria beach, spaces with high historic and tourist value.

The day began at 7: 00 a.m. with a meeting point at the Chat Arco, at 3 ° street at San Felipe and spread to 11: 00 a.m..

During the activity, participants did not only cleanup work but also advanced environmental awareness and the importance of protecting the country's natural and cultural heritage.

The next beach cleanup will be held on May 24 and students and public at large are invited to sign up for vflores @ MiCultura.gob.pa / 524-2647, Social work hour certification will be awarded.
