The Ministry of Culture announced to the winners of the Reg of Music Composition Roque Cordero 2025, in its ninth edition, a contest that stimulated musical creation in honor of the great Panamanian master.

The international jury with José Ignacio De La Peña (Spain), Jorge Gustavo Mejía (Honduras) and Eddie Mora Bermudez (Costa Rica) emphasized the quality, structural strength and timbre wealth of the works selected.

The contest includes five categories awarded to a single winner: single (for voice or instrument), camera set, chorus, symphony band and symphony orchestra.
The results in the following categories are as follows:
Category Solo: "Extrapolation," by Daniel Fernando Oropeza (pseudonym Morpus).
Category Coro: Declared deserted.
Camera category: "saloma" by Emiliano Pardo Tristan (seudonym mejorana).
Category Symphony Band: "Now I have the Isthmus in every pore," by Emiliano Pardo Tristan (pseudonym Dos Maes).
Category Symphony Orchestra: "Reversion," by Daniel Fernando Oropeza (pseudonym El Guru).

The Roque Cordero National Music Composition Competition aims to enrich Panama's cultural heritage by promoting the creation of musical works by Panamanian or foreign composers living in Panama.

That's a space to project the composer's talent and strengthen his musical creation in Panama.
