Panama, August 7, 2025. - Three talented Panamanian artists were awarded in version 45 of the National Visual Arts Competition, Roberto Lewis of Painting, Sculpture and Photography, a contest that distributed 27,000 dollars to winners.

The official announcement was made in the presence of a public notary, to whom it was incumbent to reveal the names of the winners.

In the category Painting was awarded Shirley Dianne Johnston De León with the work "Back to MI." In Sculpture the winner was Xenia De Lourdes Carles de Ameglio with his creation "Body of Light." In Photography the winner was Eloy José Olivella Madrid with his work "Leal."

The Inclusive Art category was declared deserted as a single work was put forward that did not meet the requested characteristics at the bases.

The Qualifying Jury justifiable his decision by explaining that at the bases it is determined that "artistic expressions designed or adopted to guarantee participation and appreciation of persons with disabilities in inclusive art have to promote sensory accessibility with cognitive and physical works and modifications that each artist can propose at the contest."

Gianni Bianchinni, National Director of the Arts, said that it's always an honor to be part of a contest that's so famous in our country and to "listen to what international jurors give us as reference about how we can improve every year." He used to congratulate all participants, calling them to continue on the path of art.

The Jury was composed of three well-known international artists: the Maestra Dinorah Carballo, from Costa Rica, Dr. Katya Cazar from Ecuador and Maestro Miguel Vinicio Mella from Dominican Republic.
