The Upper Coast of the province of Colón has become an epicentre of joy and learning through the "Merry Summer 2025" initiative. Encouraged by the third area of the National Aeronautical Service (SENAN), in collaboration with the Colón Government and the Ministry of Culture, this comprehensive program aims to promote the integral development of children and youth while at the same time addressing pressing social challenges.

Since Monday, January 20, a multidisciplinary team has been visiting communities such as Santa Isabel, Cuango, Playa Chiquita and Viento frío, conduct a number of sports, cultural and artistic workshops. Painting, sports and recreational activities have been leading these first few days, awaking the creativity and competitive spirit of the participants.

The "Merry Summer 2025" goes beyond offering recreational activities with the aim of empowering communities and preventing gender violence, including awareness-raising talks for women and children.

Experts from the National Secretariat for Children, Adolescents and Family (SENNIAF)), Ministry of Health (MINSA), National Disability Secretariat (SENADIS) and the Ministry of Women have shared their knowledge and experiences by providing tools to strengthen self-esteem and promote healthy relations.

The decision to conduct this program on the Upper Coast of Colón responded to an increasing concern about high levels of violence and child abuse in the region. Through these initiatives, we seek to have a positive impact on the lives of youth by providing them with healthy alternatives and promoting values such as respect and solidarity.

The SENAN, the Colón Province and the Ministry of Culture reaffirm their commitment to work together to build a more promising future for the province of Colón. Through initiatives such as the "Happy Summer 2025," they seek to strengthen community ties, prevent violence and promote the integral development of people.
