With a vibrant and talented performance, the Grand Band Metropolitan of the National Network of Orquestas and Children's and Young Chors of Panama, under the leadership of Professor Alejandro Castillo, captivated the public on the fifth day of the Panama Jazz Festival 2025. 

His presentation marked the closure of morning clinics at the City of Knowledge Convention Center as part of the 22nd edition of this prestigious event.

The big band with young musicians between 17 and 30 years old offered a display of energy and passion that left the public breathless and as an example of the artistic talent that emerges in Panama.

Ivan Medina, tenor and soprano saxophonist and founder member of the group expressed his pride for being a part of this project and mentioned: "I have been on the Red and the Big Band for three years and have been an unforgettable experience that has allowed me to grow as a musician."
For his part, Mairy Williams, who has been a member of the Big Band for a year and three months and is the only woman in the group, emphasized the importance of this space for the musical development of young talents.

Electra Castillo, director of the National Network of Orquestas and Children's and Youth Coros of Panama, emphasized the relevance of the program: "The Big Band is an innovative project we started two years ago. Unlike our classical orchestras, this group focuses on Latin and jazz music. We are honored to be part of the most important festival in Latin America and, of course, Panama."

The Ministry of Culture extends a cordial invitation to close the festival and will be held tomorrow at 3: 00 p.m. at the City of Knowledge Quadrant.

The event will feature the participation of leading national and international artists, promising an unforgettable closure for this 22nd edition of the Panama Jazz Festival.
