The Ministry of Culture (MiCultura), committed to public policies with regard to cultural accessibility, recognizes the artistic, cultural and sports achievements of persons with disabilities and joins with support to the national delegation that will represent Panama at the 2024 Paralympic Games, to be held from 28 August to 8 September in Paris City.

As a leading entity in the promotion and protection of cultural rights, MiCultura hosted the official presentation of the athletes that will compete at this prestigious international event.

"It's an honor for us to open up spaces for events such as this, especially at the City of the Arts, a place designed with an approach to accessibility at all its levels," said Lastenia González, Director of the Office of Equal Opportunities, representing his Excellency María Eugenia Herrera, Minister of Culture.

The Ministry of Culture recognizes the right of persons with disabilities to develop and use their creative, artistic, sports and intellectual skills, not only for their own benefit but also as a valuable contribution to the development of their communities and countries.

"The Paralympic Games celebrate not only sport but also inclusion and equality, emphasizing the skills and indomitable spirit of athletes with disabilities," added González, during an emotional photo display showing the achievements and experiences of these outstanding paratologists.

At the 17th edition of the Paralympic Games, Panama will be represented by King Dimas at parapowerlifting, Esteban Goddard at paracyclism and Iveth Valdés at paratletism, who will proudly bear the name of the country in this important competition.
