The Ministry of Culture (MiCultura), through the National Direction of The Arts, published yesterday afternoon, August 12, the Nobel National Prize for Narrative Ariel Barria Alvarado 2024: "La Noche, Tal Vez," by Eduardo Amílcar Jaspe Lescure.

The writers Gonzalo Menendez González, Melitón Robles Esquina and Danae Brugiati met at the Cultural Ministry's headquarters, located at the Tula Building, to discuss among the 38 works participating, in the presence of Julio Morales, public notary.

According to the Qualifying Jury, the winning work, under the pseudonym Glenda Garson, with great skill uses ecfrosis to create a narrative about internationally and nationally recognized paintings.

Jury members put forward in their decision that "texts are written with fineness and delicacy, and this indicates skill. Of the 38 proposals put forward, this work best manages the narrative structure."

The winner will get a cash prize of 5,000 pat (B / .5.000.00), an honor scroll and fifty copies (50) of his book. The prize will be held in October.

Aleida De Gracia, head of the Department of Fairs and Literary Meetings and Gianni Bianchini, national director of the arts, were present during his decision.

Eduardo Jaspe Lescure, an Industrial and financial engineer, won the José María Sánchez National Counting Award and, in 2016, the Rogelio Sinan Central American Award in the tale category. He is the author of the Malos agüeros, Origin of the Ninfa and older Arcanos.

The literary contest called "Sagittarius Editions of Narrative Ariel Barria Alvarado" in 2021 was created at the initiative of Enrique Jaramillo's writer with the aim of honoring his memory. From 2022 this contest goes into the hands of the Ministry of Culture that will call him up to date and alternates with his genres of tale and novel and with his outstanding categories.
