Panama, May 20, 2026. - The Center for Historical, Anthropological and Cultural Research (CIHAC AIP) performed five years of operations dedicated to the study and documentation of the social fabric and cultural heritage that define Panamanian territory.

Since its establishment as an association of public interest, the institution has been developing research lines focused on archaeology, colonial and Republican history, as well as inmaterial manifestations that shape national identity.

The event brought together cultural authorities, academic researchers, representatives of international agencies and strategic partners in the study of heritage. The meeting worked as a space for an exchange of perspectives about challenges to conservation in the region and resulted in strengthening institutional alliances aimed at future historic and archaeological documentation projects.

Juan Guillermo Martin, Director of CIHAC, said that "this research centre already walks and becomes a space for new generations curious to research. There's also a program for students developing doctoral projects and international researchers that consolidates the network of international researchers."

During this quinquennial, the centre has been managing archaeological exploration and conservation projects at key locations of the country, with local and international specialists working with them to generate scientific publications and heritage catasters.

The commemorative activities included the presentation of institutional balance sheets and the dissemination of advances in the registration of cultural goods, performing their role as a scientific research and consultation body in the area of social sciences in Panama.
