Panama 19 May 2026. Panama's historic historic and presidential heritage is undergoing important technical and conservation studies. The National Centre for Restoration of Monuments and Artistics (CNRMOA), attached to the National Cultural Heritage Section of the Ministry of Culture, conduct a technical and documentary assessment of two historic presidential gangs held by the Electoral Court of Panama.

The day forms part of research related to the restoration process of former President Belisario Porras's presidential band, a piece of high historic and symbolic value for his Republican memory.

During his specialized work, the technical team developed processes of detailed documentation, photo registration, measures, material analysis and assessment of the conservation status of both pieces of property. These actions allowed for an extension of the comparative study about production techniques, construction systems and symbolic elements present in Panamanian presidential gangs.

As part of the findings and advances achieved during these research and conservation work, the Centre also initiated the search and location of other presidential gangs with the aim of expanding the property register and strengthening the comprehensive study of these presidential pieces.

Research forms part of a line of work aimed at the study, documentation and preservation of Panama's historic presidential heritage, to highlight the processes of preventive conservation and the protection of cultural property linked to national historic memory.

The Ministry of Culture emphasized that this type of scientific assessment contributes to generating specialized information for future restoration and conservation interventions, ensuring adequate protection of historic pieces of relevance to the country.

The Electoral Tribunal of Panama was also thanked for facilitating access and institutional accompaniment necessary for the conduct of this technical research about historic presidential heritage.
