Panama, September 12, 2025. An intergovernmental team, including the Ministry of Culture, conducted a tour of Colón Center's first tourist-cultural circuit, a key action to achieve the strategy of revitalizing the Atlantic province that is aligned with the goal of diversifying tourism and culture.

The Public Infrastructure Coordination Unit (UCIP) has been monitoring the progress of all projects currently under implementation with the intention of enabling them and ending them in the short term. A great step towards the recovery and valuation of the town of Colón.

The Minister of Culture, María Eugenia Herrera, said that as far as we "do the repair of the social fabric we can build together a more harmonic and empathic space. That's the extraordinary power that art and culture have to transform human beings."

He added that Colón "is such a cheerful town, so powerful of course, that it's very important to recognize its culture, its gastronomy, its form and its ideals."

To date, important advances have been achieved at key locations, enabling partial circuit openings. The relevance of these sites arises from a joint analysis between government, private company, local authorities and provincial leaders.

The Governor of the Province of Julio Hernández participated in this tour, and the manager of the Tourism Authority of Panama, Gloria De León, and the manager of the Free Zone of Colón, Luisa Napolitano, and deputy Samireliz Chong and technicians from the ministries and institutions linked to this tourist circuit.
