The Ministry of Culture (MiCultura) has revealed the winners of the seventh edition of the National Musical Composition Competition "Roque Cordero 2024," giving a total of 16,000 The contest aims at encouraging and enriching the creation of musical works by Panamanian and foreign composers resident in the country.
The winners in each category are as follows:
• Category Solo: Declared deserted.
• Joint House category: "Clarividence" by complainant Daniel Fernando Oropeza.
• Coro category: "Éxodus" by José Gerardo Castillo Zaldívar.
• Symphony Band category: "Sinphonietta" by author Samuel Ivan Robles Áreas.
• Category Symphony Orchestra: "Migrant Concert" by author Emiliano Pardo Tristan.

The international Jury, composed of outstanding musicians, highlighted the high level of works put forward this year. Gianni Bianchini, National Director of The Arts of MiCultura, commended the quality of compositions and encouraged participants to continue to develop their talent in future editions.

The award ceremony will be held next September 11 at the Museum Gallery of the City of Las Artes.
