The body of dancers from the National Ballet of Panama received at its headquarters in Ciudad de Las Artes Russian master and dancer, Andrei Vassiliev, who held a stop at our country with Manuel Ruíz, director of the Latin American Dala Platform.

The members of the National Ballet had the experience to gain knowledge from Vassiliev and to share experiences about the profession and projection on stage.

"Today we have the privilege of having a visit from Latin America Baila, who brought us master Vassiliev, who has given us an outstanding class with invaluable suggestions during his essays," said Graciela Guillen, artistic director of the National Ballet.

Master Vassiliev currently is Executive and Artistic Director of Vassiliev Academy in New York and has been developed within the ballet with participation in international competitions such as the 1997 Prix de Lausanne, where she dedicated herself with the Gold Medal as well as development of participation in international ballet academies.

For his part, the artistic director of the Latin American platform Baila, Manuel Ruíz, expressed his gratitude for the collaboration of the Executive Director of the National Ballet, Gloria Barrios and the artistic director, Graciela Guillen, in the conduct of this activity.

Manuel Ruiz, remarked, "while I was with master Vassiliev in Panama, we were given an opportunity to work with the National Ballet of Panama and to first give a" Masterclass "with this international dancer in this country."

Latin America Baila, is a platform dedicated to performing ballet classes with different international artists in countries of the region, where, moreover, outstanding dancers are given an opportunity to continue their studies at international academies through grants and financial aids.
