Under the leadership of the Panamanian embassy in China, Panamanian literature will be present in that country of the Asian continent with the translation into Mandarin of twelve stories with an equal number of Panamanian authors.

The compendium entitled "Telas Cuentan" was established as the first bilingual anthology in the Chinese and Spanish languages and responded to an initiative of the Panamanian diplomatic legation directed by Ambassador Leonardo Kam and intended to publicize Panamanian literature and highlight the trajectory of the Spanish writers.

The compendium translated into mandarin includes stories by Panamanian authors Cheri Lewis, Annabel Miguelena, Consuelo Tomas, Ela Urriola, Eyra Harbar, Giovanna Benedetti, Griselda López, Isabel Burgos, Lissete Lanuza, Melanie Taylor, Moravia Ochoa and Nicolas Alzamora.

The compilation that was submitted to China by Panamanian writer and storyteller Carlos Fong, on May 14 and that was virtual told by the Minister of Culture, Giselle González Villarrué.

In addition to the presentation, the Panama Embassy in China gave first copies to educational and academic institutions, including the China National Library with a Section of Foreign Languages.

The event was also attended by ambassadors and diplomatic representatives in Beijing, local authorities, academic and educational institutions, writers and friends of the Embassy.
