Until Tuesday, May 28, the process of signing contracts of the local artisan with the Ministry of Culture (MiCultura) to formalise his presence as exhibitors at the National Crafts Fair 2024.

To facilitate the registration of artisans, MiCultura has established that contracts can be signed at regional level in provinces and comarcas.

The national director of crafts, Esther Pérez detailed that the "chosen artisan, during this process of formalization and payment of the artisan place, select their location using a ombola."

The civil servants also explained that once this phase has been completed they will have their catalogs returned to them, so that they will review their comments by the evaluating jury and thus improve their offer at the fair.

Vielka Rowe, a pottery and pottery artisan, stated that they are "very grateful for the support of the Ministry of Culture and for this space that they give us to grow and flourish. That fair is a great opportunity to show our work and connect with people who value traditional crafts."

For his part, Elvis Serrano, an artisan dedicated to the production of cutlarks, emphasized that his first participation at this fair, so she felt that "it's a very great challenge and that I would get out of my comfort area, because we have to prepare ourselves in quantity and quality and meet the requirements of MiCultura."

The National Crafts Fair will be held from June 19 to June 23 at the Atlapa Convention Center and more than 400 national crafts are expected to participate.
