Panama City, August 23, 2026. The office of Casco Antiguo (OCA) held its monthly beach cleanup day on Sunday August 23 with the participation of different volunteer groups as part of actions that promote care for public spaces and citizen commitment to heritage and environment at Casco Antiguo.

Volunteers from the Club de Lions de Ancón, Club de Fans de Ricardo Arjona, Universidad Americana (UAM), Banco Nacional de Panama and Panama Capital de Emociones and Juventud Panama Oriental participated in this event and united efforts to contribute to the cleanliness and maintenance of these spaces.

As part of the weekend's agenda, the OCA also invites citizens and foreigners to visit the Casco's Mercadito that takes place at the Plaza de la Independencia.

The market brings together local entrepreneurs, artisan and creators who offer unique pieces of jewelry, art and crafts as well as a gastronomic proposal by the chefs of Sabores del Barrio, giving residents and visitors an opportunity to buy products that have been prepared in Panama and to have a special memory of the country.

These initiatives are part of the actions undertaken by the Casco Antiguo office to promote citizen participation, strengthen the work of entrepreneurs and artisan and create meeting spaces between the community, national visitors and foreign tourists.
With activities that combine volunteerism, culture, gastronomy and entrepreneurship, the Casco Antiguo continues to offer experiences to enjoy with families and discover the cultural and creative wealth that characterizes this historic place of the city.
