Panama, June 17, 2026.- The Aristides Ureña Ramos Foundation, in partnership with the Ministry of Culture, develops free of charge in the City of the Arts the cycle of lectures and dialogues "Beyond the Work: Proceso and Legado," a space for reflection and exchange of knowledge about cultural systems, artistic creation and the history of the arts in Panama.

The initiative is run by the outstanding master Aristides Ureña Ramos, who will share with students, good arts teachers, researchers, cultural managers and public interested in aesthetics, experiences accumulated throughout his artistic and academic path.

The program began June 16 with the first conference entitled "The History of the Arts in Panama," which allowed attendees to conduct a tour of the main phases of national artistic development, from their historic background to contemporary expressions. During his exhibition, Master Arístides Ureña Ramos shared valuable reflections about the evolution of visual arts in the country, the contribution of leading Panamanian creators and the importance of preserving cultural memory as a basis of national identity.

The cycle will continue with weekly meetings that will address issues fundamental to understanding art and its impact on society. They include "The creative process" (June 23), "Modern art, contemporary art" (June 30) and "DEXA 1970: The University's Department of Artistic Expressions" (July 7).

Through these activities, the Aristides Ureña Ramos Foundation and the Ministry of Culture seek to promote critical thought, strengthen artistic training and preserve the cultural memory of the country through a dialogue among generations of creators, students and cultural sector professionals.

Profile of Maestro Aristides Ureña Ramos
The master of contemporary art, referring to Latin American art, Aristides Ureña Ramos (1954) was born in Santiago de Veraguas, Panama. Following his training at the Accademia di Belle Arti di San Marco in Florence, Italy (1978), he specializes in lithography, engraving and cinematography at centers such as Reparata Graphic Art Center and the Instituto Lorenzo di Medici. Upon his return to Panama in 1978, he teaches Art History and leads the Section of Plastic Arts at the University of Panama Regional of David and at the School of Fine Arts of Chiriquí.

In 1980 it was re-established in Italy, with an extensive international race including exhibitions, public mural and performance. It represented Panama / Italy in three editions of the Venice Biennial (1986.1997, 2001) as well as other international exhibitions such as 9th International Biennial of Beijing's Arts (2022), Havana's Biennial (1989.1991) and the third Biennial of Visual Arts of the Central American Istmo (2002). It has been performing monumental mural mural events in cities such as Florence, Pisa, Santiago de Veraguas and Panama City. Besides its artistic practice, it writes essays, stories and musical compositions, and continues to have been a genuine feature since 2014.
