Strategic partnership between MiCultura and Panama National Archive

The Ministry of Culture (MiCultura) and the Public Registry of Panama have signed a framework convention for cooperation and technical assistance to advance the institutional development of the National Archive of Panama through a long-term strategic partnership for the generation, exchange and joint transfer of knowledge and technologies.

Through this convention, both parties agree to provide logistics support, exchange of technical and professional personnel to advance plans, programmes and projects of mutual interest and conduct training and technical assistance actions and services in the different technological fields as required by the parties.

Currently, the National Archive of Panama is an institution attached to the Public Registry of Panama that keeps 4.5 km of clear information about historic events that mark our national identity.

Carlos Aguilar Navarro, Minister of Culture and Bayardo Ortega, General Director of the Public Registry, participated during the signing of the framework convention and will work to set up an inter-institutional committee with a view to coordinating actions dedicated to the promotion, development, implementation and implementation of activities that contribute to the enrichment of national culture and historic, social and scientific research in the country.

"The work that we are performing here is extremely important, not only by preserving our historic documents but also by keeping our record of what we are. To be able to see our country's history is priceless and together we can achieve great progress with respect to outreach.

That whole historic and cultural collection that remains in this building, serves so that future generations do not lose that essence of being Panamanian, and it's a great honor to be able to work together, now more than we have already a Center for Historical, Anthropological and Cultural Research, "said Minister Aguilar Navarro.
