Panama, 24 April 2026.- The Ministry of Culture, through the National Ballet of Panama, developed a special agenda at the National Theater as part of the Dance Month with open and interviewing essays and training experiences directed at every public.

Under the concept "Vive la experiencia con el Ballet Nacional de Panama," the initiative allowed attendees to get into the creative process of dance, monitoring in real time the stage assembly, the corrections of the teachers and the technical and artistic work that lies behind each production, before the premiere of the classical ballet El Corsario.

The Minister of Culture, María Eugenia Herrera, emphasized the importance of opening up these spaces to the public. "We are proud to share this open essay and to show the efforts, discipline and passion of our dancers, whose work behind the curtain makes it possible to get excited and connected with the audience," she expressed.

The program also included the "Between Friends of Dance" event that brought together artists, teachers and cultural managers to reflect on the current and future of this discipline in Panama, addressing issues such as training, leadership, artistic production and challenges of the sector.

In addition, more than 500 students and teachers at the National School of Dance participated in a special day with guided tours and an open essay, strengthening the link between academic training and professional practice.

These activities served as an advance to the premiere of El Corsario, to be presented on May 7, 8 and 9 at the Anayansi Theater, marking a milestone as this work of the international classical repertoire was first presented in a complete production.

The Month of Dance takes place every April in commemoration of the International Day of Dance, promoted by the UNESCO, promoting this art as a tool of cultural identity, education and social transformation.
