Panama March 1, 2026. The President of the Senate of the Kingdom of Spain, Pedro Rollan, made an official visit to the historic San Lorenzo fort in Colón Province.

The Minister of Culture of Panama, María Eugenia Herrera, received and accompanied the Spanish delegation's tour, with the ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain to Panama, Guzmán Palacios Fernández.

The visit was part of the official agenda developed in Panama as part of the promotion of the eleventh Ibero-American Parliamentary Forum to be held in Madrid, Spain.

During his tour, his delegation had first-hand knowledge of the historic, cultural and heritage importance of the site, as one of the leading colonial bastions of the Caribbean and as a symbol of the historic legacy shared between Panama and Spain.

Minister Herrera emphasized the value of these diplomatic meetings that strengthen international cultural cooperation while at the same time enabling them to project Panamanian heritage as a historic reference point of global relevance.
