30 November 2025 David, Chiriquí. - The Regional Cultural Direction of Chiriquí, in co-ordination with the Network of Orchestra and Youth Choirs Panama (Chiriquí module), presented the First Symphony and Folk Gala of the province, a show that co-played music, dance and traditional events on a night of cultural celebration.

The event, which began at 6: 00 p.m. at the La Basita Sport Center, brought together an expecting public that recognized the artistic quality of the young interpreters. The evening included a repertoire of 13 pieces, including La Dama de la pollera, Viva Panama and Paria.

The Youth Orchestra, led by Edwin Aparicio, demonstrated technical mastery and passion in his executions. The stage and folklore component was run by regional director Gregorio González and his group BAFDAP (Ballet Folklórico Danzas Panama), who after weeks of essays offered a high level assembly.

The gala also incorporated traditional expressions that filled the stage with energy: the Mirrors and the Dirty Diaboles, with their distinctive colors and vibrant rhythm, brought a moment of great cultural strength and dynamism.

The event was attended by directors and representatives of the institutions that are members of the technical board of Chiriquí, and this reaffirmed inter-agency support for the cultural initiatives of the province.

Gregorio González, regional director of culture, emphasized: "That gala marks an earlier and later for culture in the province. Our youth have shown that talent is what remains in Chiriquí. From MiCultura we will continue to promote artistic training and strengthening our traditional expressions."

The governorate of the province, Aixa Santamaria, added: "I have been proud to see so many young people show discipline, talent and love for their homeland. I congratulate the Regional Cultural Directorate for promoting activities that unite families and enhance our identity."

For his part, Edwin Aparicio, conductor of the orchestra, stated: "The students worked with dedicated care to offer a quality presentation. Spaces such as this motivate, inspire and strengthen their musical growth."

The Regional Cultural Directorate emphasized that this first gala did not only display local talent but also opened opportunities for the musical and folk training of children and youth and contributed to the cultural development of the province.
