CIHAC-AIP Opens Call for Research Semillero Program 2026

Panama, November 11, 2025. - The Center for Historical, Anthropological and Cultural Research (CIHAC-AIP) opened its call for an Research Semilleros Program 2026.
The program aims at strengthening the research capacity of university and freshman graduates through their participation in an intensive training and research practice program with CIHAC-AIP and by providing an economic stimulus.
This year, the program will be dictated by historian Marixa Lasso and aims at scholars of history, history and geography or history and philosophy. The participants should be graduate students who are currently undergoing their second year or have been newly graduates who are within a period of less than a year after their university degree.
Los interesados en participar deben enviar un correo a cihac@cihac.org.pa hasta el 5 de diciembre, comunicando sus datos generales e intención de participar en el programa. Posteriormente, el interesado recibirá un correo de confirmación del CIHAC en que se le indicará una fecha y lugar para participar en un examen presencial preliminar en el cual se medirán sus capacidades analíticas y de redacción.
Once an examination has been conducted, a group of applying agents will be selected for the next phase and reported by post during the course of December.
Si el seleccionado es un estudiante, deberá remitir al correo cihac@cihac.org.pa la siguiente documentación:
• Copies of the most recent university credits
• an official certification or note attesting to his or her quality as an active student at a university centre, including his or her course and year.
• Copies of a permanent resident's card or card and
• Two letters of academic recommendation.
If the selected person is a newly graduated person, they shall contribute:
• Copies of his degree and university credits
• Copies of a register or permanent resident's card
• Two letters of academic recommendation.
After revising the complete applications, CIHAC-AIP will select up to 6 program beneficiaries and an acceptance confirmation will be sent by post. The seedling activity will start on 30 January 2026 and end on 30 April 2026.
