The Ministry of Culture presents a varied cultural program for the week from October 20 to 25, marked by the celebration of Ricardo Miró week, the highest tribute to Panamanian letters, and an extensive agenda of activities that celebrate creativity, inclusion and national identity through music, theater, dance, visual arts and heritage reflection.

The Ricardo Miró week officially opens on Monday, October 20, at the City of the Arts, Carmen Cedeño auditorium with the opening of pics from the winners of the Ricardo Miró 2025 National Literature Award, the most important recognition of Panamanian letters, in their categories of novel, tale, essay, theater and poetry. Each winner receives a gold medal, scroll, his work's publication and a prize of 15,000 balboas.

During this literary week there will be contipations, reading, performing and meeting with writers, around the prestigious National Prize for Literature Ricardo Miró, which highlights the best of narrative, poetry, theater and essay in Panama.

The Panama National Ballet will feature the iconic ballet "The Lake of the Cisnes" at the National Theater on October 22, 23 and 24. The feature of 22 will be a special presentation organized by the First Lady's Office as part of awareness and collection actions to fight breast cancer.

The program also includes workshops and dialogues. From October 22 to 24, the Cultural Center of Spain - Casa del Soldado will host the workshop "La memoria a escuela." The Youth Reading Circle will meet at the Rogelio Sinan Library of the City of the Arts, while at Casa del Soldado will continue the workshop "Guesthouse tools."

To close the week, on 24 and 25 October, the Canal Museum will project films at Cathedral Square while the exhibitions "The Judgment of Being" and Fanzine Laboratory and other artistic proposals are open.

From October 24, the District of La Pintada, in the province of Coclé, will hold the XIII National Hat Festival Pintao, under the motto "The tradition will be knitted with pride." More than 150 crafts, carts, parades and cultural shows will fill with folklor and national pride at Plaza 25 de diciembre.

The program includes the traditional ride, the colorful Mil Hat Parade and an artisan fair with live exhibitions of the production process of the pineao hat, declared in 2017 as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of mankind by the UNESCO.
