Panama, October 7, 2025. - That year, in its version 54 and under the motto "Rescuing traditions and customs," we will have to start the Festival of the Guapo Toro of Antón from October 15 to 20. That celebration, which honors the collective memory and the active role of the community in its conservation, expects to have about 150,000 visitors.

During the announcement, the Minister of Culture, María Eugenia Herrera, emphasized the value of this party, bearing in mind that "since its founding in 1964, the Festival of the Guapo Toro has been a space to rescue and project the traditions of the anarchist peasant."

He added that the dance of the handsome bull, the spotted cow, the tamborito, the typical pollera, the guacho in totuma and the old carnavalites are manifestations that connect us with our roots and allow us to share them with the citizens of our country and the world.

The festival creates a significant economic impact for the district and strengthens local development through gastronomy, crafts and cultural tourism, as it integrates children, youth and adults into activities that strengthen their sense of membership and love for our traditions.

The program for the day of celebration includes an exhibition of anarcher polleras, tamboritos, manufacture of the Toro Guapo and tambor antonero, display and sale of consumer crafts, walk of queens and princesses, fight of handsome bullfighting and other attractions.

He was accompanied by Minister Herrera José Alberto Sosa, National Director of Folklore and Víctor Manuel García, president of the Fest's Board and the queens and princesses that will accompany the festival.
