The Ministry of Culture, in co-ordination with the First Lady's Office and the National Secretary of Meas, launched two training processes at the City of the Arts on Saturday as part of the national program Latidos del Barrio: Training Workshop for Formators, aimed at community leaders that will extend up to January 2026 and as well as artistic workshops for children, to be held during the four Saturdays of October.

The Latidos del Barrio program, advanced by the National Government, aims to create secure, creative and participatory community centers, where art, culture and sport are tools for social transformation. It aims at saving cultural identity, revitalizing public spaces and preventing social fabric degradation while generating opportunities for growth for children, youth and adults.

The first communities to join this initiative are El Chorrillo, San Felipe, Calidonia, Santa Ana, San Joaquín and Ciudad Esperanza, whose leaders participate in the workshop with the aim of becoming program facilitators and multipliers and thus strengthening their role as agents of change in their territories.

At the same time, children will be trained in disciplines such as painting, music, dance and theater, promoting creativity, a sense of belonging and cultural identity in new generations.

"Today we sow a seed together to transform our neighborhoods. With your leadership and the participation of our children, Latidos del Barrio will be a heart that beats with force in every community," said Cultural Minister María Eugenia Herrera.

With this launch, the Ministry of Culture has been committed to bringing culture closer to communities, promoting citizen participation and strengthening the social fabric through the training of local leaders and the opening up of development spaces for children and youth.

That place symbolizes the commitment of the State to promote creativity and culture as engines of human development.
