The Ministry of Culture has been dedicated to more than 10 locations between provinces and cordments of the country, bringing together cultural managers, artists, community organisations and civil society representatives to contribute to the construction of the First National Cultures Plan.

The tour began in the province of Chiriquí, and later consultations have been conducted at Penonomé, María Chiquita, Santiago, Ngäbe Buglé region, Arraijan, Colón town, Guaré and Chagres, with voices and experiences from different cultural sectors of the country.

That participatory process aims at making citizens an active part of public policy design that will serve as a road map for the consolidation, strategic planning and development of Panama's cultural development, while ensuring transparency at every stage.

The National Cultures Plan will guide resources, articulate institutional efforts and generate actions that promote inclusive and sustainable cultural development and strengthen culture as an engine for social and economic progress.

In the coming weeks, the Ministry of Culture will continue with new dates of consultation in different regions to reach more Panamanians and to ensure that this plan reflects the diversity, participation and cultural wealth of the country.
