Panama, August 10, 2025. - The meeting officially started with Panama. Artists, choreographers and dance lovers met at the Herbert Auditorium of the City of the Arts to give way to three weeks of cultural activities that will put the evolution of Panamanian talent into the display: the National Meeting of the Dance 2025.
A complacent Minister of Culture, María Eugenia Herrera, remained at the front line and as from today she sees how this activity takes shape that is an initiative of the ministry she leads. The National Dance Meeting, from now on, did a display of capabilities by the groupings, that will participate throughout the season.
"We are proud to fulfill the mission of this festival, to boost national dance mobility, to promote recognition of emerging creators and to strengthen links between communities of artists and their public," said Minister Herrera.
He added that "through his functions, workshops, laboratories, contiguations and residences, the encounter dynamizes the ecosystem of dance, Visibilizes the many expressions that form them and promotes an active dialogue between tradition, contemporaneity and innovation."
From 10 to 31 August, the country will dance with the meeting, an event that brings together interpreters, choreographers and trainers in iconic spaces such as the City of the Arts, the Balboa Theater and the Colón Center of Art and Culture and other scenarios distributed throughout the national territory.
The National Ballet and the National School of Dance will participate with special presentations, such as La Bayadere and Panamanian Folk Dance.
The meeting will be built as an important platform for the development of the sector and will offer training, exchange and visualisation spaces that contribute to the artistic and professional growth of dancers, choreographers and other professionals from the area.
