Panama, 6 August 2025. - From 4 September to 8 a.m. and, up to 4 p.m. on 6 October 2025, the call will be held to participate in the Fondo Cine National Competition, a key opportunity to boost Panamanian audiovisual talent.

The National Cinematographic and Audiovisual Industry Directorate of the Ministry of Culture convenes all natural or legal persons of Panamanian nationality, who are registered with the National Registry of Cinematographic and Audiovisual Industry to participate in this contest that will distribute 2.3 million dollars in prizes.

The competition represents one of the main tools for promoting audiovisual production in the country, as part of public policies aimed at strengthening and professionalizing the film sector.

At this edition, the contest includes eight categories of participation with significant state investment through Fondo Cine aimed at stimulating national talent and promoting a sustainable industry.

The categories are: production of feature films of fiction or animation, production of feature films of fiction or animation as Opera Prima, production of documentary production, production of project production, production of long films and documentaries after production, development of serial projects, production of minority co-production of Panama for feature films of fiction and / or animation and production of minority co-production for documentary production.

The Fondo Cine, established by Act 16 of 2012, constitutes a strategic public policy for the development of films in Panama, enabling national filmmakers to have the necessary resources to conduct their projects.
