The Mil Polleas Parade, one of the most representative events of Panamanian identity, once again filled with color and tradition, the main streets of the town of Las Tablas, Province of Los Santos, with a lively celebration of our cultural heritage.

That year, the delegation of the Ministry of Culture (MiCultura) participated with enthusiasm and emphasized its commitment to the preservation and promotion of the national cultural expressions.

The delegation was headed by S.E. María Eugenia Herrera, Minister of Culture, Arianne Benedetti, Deputy Minister and Ivis Moreno, Secretary General of the institution, who, with directors, MiCultura partners, festival queens and musicians, have been spotted with spectacular and colorful atavíos and paid tribute to the leading speaker of this activity: pollera.

The Minister Herrera dazzled with a majestic pollera made with traditional techniques of beamed and beamed in blue tones, prepared by artisan from Las Lagunitas, La Enea and La pacheca. Also, the Ministry was proud to have Lastenia Vergara, outstanding artisan from San José de Las Tablas, as a champion of his delegation, in recognition of his dedicated and outstanding production of nightclubs.

The delegation of MiCultura members and directors of some national Festivals and Fairs have been accompanied by those of the National Mitra Folk Festival, the Occupy Manitor, the Chorro Cumbia, that of the Tambor and the pollera of St. Joseph, that of the Sugar Rod, the guarapo and its derivatives, that of the Floro of the Holy Spirit, and those of the Folkloric Meeting of the Canajagua and the Feria of the Copé.

"That parade celebrates not only the wealth of our traditions but also the efforts of the artisan hands that keep them alive and reaffirms our commitment to preserve our cultural heritage," stated the incumbent of Culture.
