To mark the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, the Ministry of Culture of Panama reaffirmed its commitment to inclusion, equal opportunities and respect through a vibrant cultural show held at the sixth edition of the Inclusive Gala, under the motto "Communicate with me."

The event was held at the iconic Balboa Theater, where talented children, youth and adults with disabilities demonstrated their artistic skills.

The Special Programme of the Network of Orchestra and Youth Chorus of Panama, the Centinela Foundation, artists Ana Sofía Herrera and Yasse Barragan of Let's Speak, Yaritzel Morales and Alexander Verá, ALUIF's dance body, Corridors of Steel, with choreographer José Alberto Villamil and special participation by actor Isaac Fiatt, were among the leading participants.

During the gala, artists with a track record have been recognized as well as organisations that promote artistic talent in people with disabilities. Also, we paid tribute to allied institutions that have developed adapted formats, inclusive cinema and theater and to MiCultura's national directorates that advance inclusion initiatives.

Arianne Benedetti, Vice-Minister of Culture, emphasized the impact of these efforts:
"We recognize those with courage, effort and creativity who have shown that barriers exist only to be overcome. Today we pay tribute to people with disabilities who, through art, enrich our society and teach us how to see the world from new perspectives."

For his part, Lastenia González, director of the Office for Equal Opportunities and Gender at MiCultura, called for the continuation of a more inclusive society:
"In diversity lies our strength and in inclusion our future. Let us continue to work together so that we can all participate, create and fully express ourselves."

The sixth Inclusive Gala was a celebration of talent, creativity and determination, and reaffirmed that Panama's cultural wealth lies in its diversity.
