The Ministry of Culture (MiCultura), the Afro-Panamanian Private Foundation for Sustainable Development and the Parliament of the State of the African Diaspora gave details at a press conference about the First Cultural Meeting between Panama and Ghana.

That event will feature more than 20 musicians from the Musical and Dance Shebre Group, who will feature a cultural exchange that will be held in different spaces of the cities of Colón, Portobelo and Panama on 25, 26 and 27 November.

Melvin Brown, president of the Afro-American Private Foundation for Sustainable Development and the Parliament of the State of the African Diaspora, emphasized: "The First Pan-African International Bilateral Intercultural Meeting will celebrate the rich shared cultural heritage of both countries. Through music and dance, with drums as actors, we seek to give life to the festivities in a connection with ancient stories and rhythms."

Veronica Arosemena, director of International Technical Cooperation, commented: "That artistic group, representing the heart of Ghana, will delight us with the rhythm of the drums and rhythmic dances that are characteristic of his ancestral traditions and with his people's felt impregnated stories."

The Cultural Reunion program includes the following activities:

Monday 25 November: Cultural exchange at the auditorium of the Center of Art and Culture at Colón at 10: 30 a.m.
Tuesday 26 November: Tour, cultural presentation and dialogue at the Royal Customs of Portobelo at the Afro-Panamanian memory museum at 10: 00 a.m.
Wednesday, November 27: Pan-African Intercultural Meeting at the Herbert Auditorium of Castro, City of the Arts, at 7: 00 p.m. The Musical Shebre and Dance Group of Ghana will share with danzants and pampering congos from Panama.
The activity was organized by the Afro-Panamanian Private Foundation for Sustainable Development and the Parliament of the State of the African Diaspora with the support of the Ministry of Culture of Panama.

The Military and Dance Group, originally from Ghana, West Africa, was founded in 2001 by Peter Assenyoh. His mission is to represent Ghana's cultural wealth with a special focus on ancestral traditions.
