The Agro-Industrial and Commercial Exhibition of Aguadulce 2024, an event that brought together entrepreneurs, artisans and local authorities, strengthening the district as an epicentre of culture, tradition and economic development, was held as part of the celebrations for the 176th anniversary of the Foundation of Aguadulce.

The event, which attracted thousands of visitors from across the country, was chaired by Miss Aguadulce 2024, Gretel Martínez, with directors from the Ministry of Culture (MiCultura).

The inaugural ribbon court brought together Cristina de la Guardia, national director of crafts and Mirhia Borissoff, deputy ministers with responsibility for women, who emphasized the value of artisan work in economic growth in the region.

One of the most awaited moments was the opening of the intersectional fence of the Ministry of Culture, where 20 local artisan had an opportunity to display and market their products, promoting rural entrepreneurship and the preservation of traditional technologies.

During the day, the MiCultura authorities, headed by Ivis Moreno and Gianni Bianchini, visited the pavilions, strengthening their commitment to continue to support these initiatives inside the country.

The Stella Sierra Regional Museum was also a key feature of the celebrations. The traditional process of mining seawater salt, an iconic activity of Aguadulce, was emphasized and eight Panamanian films were shown as part of the program "Cinema in Your Community."

The titles presented included Captain Wasp, something Blue and Belisario Porras - an architect of a nation, offering them a diversity and quality cultural offer.

The 176th anniversary festivities have not only celebrated the history of Aguadulce but have also served as a platform for promoting entrepreneurship and traditions that enrich the Panamanian cultural landscape.

Raúl Castro and María del Pilar Dejanon, counselors of the MiCultura's upper office, have also been an active participant and have been strengthening institutional support for these activities that advance the cultural and economic development of the region.

With an extensive range of folk activities, parades and cultural events, Aguadulce reaffirms its importance in Panama's cultural map, bringing with them tradition and modernity in a single place.
