On October 14, the Ministry of Culture (MiCultura) held an opening and an official presentation of the Jury of the Ricardo Miró 2024 National Literature Competition.

The event had the presence of notary public at Notaria Décimo Tercera, Héctor Miguel Santos Rudas, who attested to the transparency of the selection process. During the event, winners were announced in all five categories of this prestigious literary contest.

They were winners of this highest prize of the letters Édgar Soberón Torchia, with "Moon scarlet" in the genre theater; Pedro Crenes Castro, with his work "So the sea was this" in tale; Carlos Oriel Wynter Melo, with "The great teeth of the Ripple" in novel; Patricia Pizzurno, with his work "Narratives about identities and subterranean spaces in Panama" in the genre of essay.While Eyra Harbar with "At the farthest place" was awarded in the poetry category.

Each prize will be awarded a sum of fifteen thousand pat (B /. 15,000), gold medal, allusive scroll and publication of the work.

The jurors of this contest, by category were: in novelas, Ana Merino de España, Mario Bellatín de México and Momia Herrera por Panama.

In theater, Lucía Laraglione de Argentina, Gustavo Ott de Venezuela and Tatiana Salamín, Panama.

In tale, Carlos Cortés de Costa Rica, Emerio Medina de Cuba and Javier Medina Bernal de Panama.

In poetry, Mayra Oyuela from Honduras, Carlos Esquivel from Cuba and José Luis Rodriguez from Panama.

In essay, Héctor Miguel Leyva from Honduras, Alexandra Ortiz from El Salvador and Pantaleón García from Panama.

During the Ricardo Miró Literature Week, discussions, lectures and workshops will be held with international jurors from Costa Rica, Cuba, Spain, Argentina and Honduras and will be held at La Ciudad de Las Artes.

The award ceremony will be held on Friday, 18 October at the Herbert auditorium of the City of the Arts.
