Rodrigo Montes, a teacher of music from Valparaíso, Chile, held a guitar and singing concert at the City of the Arts of the Ministry of Culture (MiCultura) as part of the cultural exchange of the Iberorquestas Juveniles program and the Mestizo port Foundation of Chile City.

His repertoire was guitar pieces inspired by his Chilean and Latin American roots, such as: La Milonga, Domingo, La Chacaria de Ramírez, Autumn and Puentes, among other classics and compositions by several authors.

Montes, who's participating at the "VIVO IBER Tambor y Cuerda" festival, represents Chile and is currently touring with popular guitar classes and Latin American music ensembles.

During his stay in Panama, his teacher gave a master's class to students from the University of Panama, the City of the Arts and to the public at large.

Electra Castillo, Panama's representative for Iberorquestas Juveniles and director of Panama's National Network of Orchestra and Youth Cores, emphasized that "this exchange is one of the wonderful projects that conduct the program, because it gives us the opportunity and first steps to continue to do art."

He added that several exchanges have been held with Amilcar Castillo, who has had the privilege of participating in two editions of the Multinational Workshop of Luthería de Iberorquestas in El Salvador, in 2023 and 2024, and have been given an experience that have made him an expert in the repair of musical instruments.

He also mentioned that "this year, five 6 and 10 year old students will participate in an Orquesta Infantile in Colombia," as well as the contest of young interpreters prize that shows more that music transforms lives, forms the musical career of many children and young professionals.

Iberorquestas Juveniles is a programme of technical and financial cooperation to support the constitution of the Ibero-American Cultural Area, with the aim of artistic training and values for children, adolescents and youth, through musical education and orchestral practice.
