The Ministry of Culture (MiCultura), through the National Board of Copyright, trained students, teachers and administrative personnel at the University of Panama's School of Agricultural Sciences on crucial issues such as regulations about literary works, the importance of copyright in cultural development and the online work registration process.

The aim of this training is to strengthen the academic community with tools that promote creation, protection and respect for intellectual property, vital elements for our country's cultural and educational growth.

Maidys Chen, national director of copyright, and Roberto de Silas, chief of registry at MiCultura, shared with them their valuable experience and knowledge.

According to Act 64 of 2012, the National Copyright Section of the Ministry of Culture is the only body with responsibility for keeping a register of copyright and related rights and also for determining the conditions for registration and storage of works, interpretations or executions, production or emissions protected by the Act.
