The Ministry of Culture with representatives of the state and private company set up new board of directors to boost creative and cultural industries

At the executive hall of the Ministry of Culture (MiCultura) today, the new Board of Directors of the Commission for the Coordination of Creative and Cultural Industries (CCICC) was established with the presence of the Minister of Culture, María Eugenia Herrera, who will lead this committee for the next quinquennial.
The meeting was attended by members of the Commission for the Coordination of Creative and Cultural Industries (CCICC), established by Executive Decree No. 3 of 20 April 2023 with the aim of promoting the development of creative and cultural industries in the country.
Miguel Fábrega, National Director of Creative Economics, presented at the meeting the National Plan of Action for Creative Economics, including programs and projects aimed at implementing actions at national level: training, dissemination, promotion, strengthening, exposure and investment in Panamanian creative and cultural industries.
"The commitment we have made today is significant, as all our institutions will be responsible for promoting initiatives that enrich our cultural heritage and promote innovation in the creative sphere," said Minister María Eugenia Herrera.
"I urge them to work with transparency and to always seek consensus, recalling that their work affects not only the economy but also our nation's soul: culture," Herrera added.
The new Board of Directors aims at implementing cross-cutting programs and projects that emerge from the spirit of laws that give the legal framework to this development pole as well as conceptual guidelines designed by the Ministry of Culture through the National Board of Creative Economics, which acts as the CCICC's technical secretariat.
The representatives of the ministries that make up this table include: Gloria De León, Administrator of the Tourism Authority of Panama, Víctor Pinillo of the Ministry of Commerce and Industries and Zoraida Jiménez of the Ministry of the Environment.
It also includes: Ana Gabriela Soberón from the Ministry of Labour and Labour Development, Carlos FitzGerald from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Karla Duque from the Municipality of Panama, Ximena Eleta from the Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Agriculture from Panama, Joan Pérez from the Authority of Micro, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises and Pedro Escalona from the Ministry of Economy and Finance and Jorge Panay from the Association of Municipalities from Panama.
