The Minister of Culture, María Eugenia Herrera, met with the Minister of the Environment, Juan Carlos Navarro and the deputy Walkiria Chandler D'Orcy with the aim of strengthening inter-institutional collaboration for the conservation of the natural and cultural heritage of the Ancón correction.

At the meeting, joint strategies for the protection and preservation of these valuable resources were agreed.

Minister Navarro emphasized the importance of the meeting, and emphasized the close relationship between the ministries concerned. "We have many heritage issues we have with the Ministry of Culture. The relationship with Minister Herrera is extraordinary and his knowledge and commitment to cultural issues are a great encouragement to us," she said.

He also referred to common projects, such as the architectural restoration at Portobelo and the preservation of heritage at the Camino de Cruces Park and the Casco Antiguo, the latter with a bill supported by both ministries. "We are united forces to conduct these projects, especially at the Corridments of Ancón and San Felipe, part of the 8-3 circuit," added Navarro, and emphasized that this effort responded to the instructions of President José Raúl Mulino and reflected the spirit of national unity and collaboration of the government.

For her part, Congressman Chandler described the meeting as productive and emphasized the need to preserve both the historic and the natural heritage of the circuit, with special attention to the correction of Ancón.

"We are evaluating whether it's necessary to issue a Cabinet Decree or to promote a law from the Assembly to secure the protection of these areas. We are all aligned with working and providing best solutions for the population, integrating both culture and environment," stated Chandler.
