A total of 181 works from different categories will compete at the National Literature Competition "Ricardo Miró," a contest that promise to gather emerging and united talents from across the country, in a competition intended to reward literary excellence.

The set of works chosen for this octagésima second edition of the literary contest are distributed into five categories tale (49), essay (9), novel (44), theater (22) and poetry (57), with the latter being the category with the highest number of participants.

The winning works will be chosen by an appropriate qualifying jury, composed of fifteen well-known intellectuals, of whom ten are foreigners and five Panamanian. Justices have an obligation to keep their identity secret until the moment of deliberation.
