The Minister of Culture, Giselle González Villarrué, presided on Thursday at an online training day about models, methods and research activities in the area of cultural development that aims to move forward with a better articulation and co-ordination of new projects and cultural policies in the digital field, organized by the Inter-American Commission of Culture (IIC) of the Organization of American States (OAS).

The indigenous language technologies projects at the National Research Council of Canada put forward by Roland Kuhn, Research Officer and Digital Technologies at the National Research Council of Canada, how to "Take advantage of racial equity to promote development and cultural change" by Peter Flegel, Executive Director of the Federal Secretary for Combating Racism and the inter-American exhibition project of women artists and creators by Richard Campbell, head of the Section of Culture and Tourism of the OAS, among others, were part of the meeting's agenda.

For Panama, CIHAC AIP's director, Tomas Mendizábal, expressed his comments about the Association of Public Interest Center for Historical, Anthropological and Cultural Research (CIHAC AIP) and Eduardo Araujo of the City of Knowledge Foundation, who put forward the issue related to the Cultural Information System of Panama (Seiculture).

That international meeting was run by the Minister of Culture as Chair of the CIC's Working Group No. 1 and Vice-President of this inter-American Commission, who expressed his gratitude for the excellent dialogue and exchange of valuable experiences and projects that will give rise to a great deal of interest.

The Panama initiatives propose the establishment of a repository platform that includes the digital cultural initiatives of OAS Member States.

The development of this meeting aims at strengthening institutional capacities, broadening the horizon for the development of new programs and promoting the exchange of experiences that enrich cultural initiatives in the Americas.

The head of the Section of Culture and Tourism, Richard Campbell, and his specialist in culture, Santiago Noboa, participated by the Organization of American States.
