With a total investment of B /. 62,547,710.22, the Ministry of Culture (MiCultura) will put at the disposal of the population as from January, the City of The Arts, an integral space that will be the epicentre of art and culture and that will be estimated to benefit about 20,000 people directly and 250,000 indirectly a year.
The architecture that will be inaugurated on January 23 by the president of the Republic, Laurentino Cortizo Cohen consists of seven buildings, with a total of 30.000m2., with 3 auditoriums and a multifunctional theater that brings together the schools of Plastic Arts, Music, Danzas, Theater, Youth of Music and the National Institute of Music (INAM), as well as to give for the first time an own headquarters to the National Ballet and to the National Symphony Orchestra.
Welcoming its opening, MiCultura has been preparing an open day with a cultural program this 24 and 25 January since 4: 00 p.m., at which the public will be able to enjoy the presentation of groups that will play different musical genres, thus leading to a great training offer, creative and development of arts and culture.
A gallery of artists such as Rómulo Castro, Sono Paralelo, Caribe Mayor, Combos Nacionales and Folkloricas will be invited to be held by January 24 and will culminate with the Network of Youth Chors and Orchestra of Panama.
The Gramo Danse Foundation, Luis Mario More, José Álvarez Torres and Pianist Mario Olivozo will be at the stage on 25 January and will be closed with Pepina and the National Symphony Orchestra at Pepina Symphony.
The Network of Orquestas and Youth Choirs, the National Council of Writers and Writers of Panama, the Impressor of La Nación and the Mariano Arosemena Editorial will also have a place to develop their programs and projects.
Additional to these presentations, the exhibition hall will have an exhibition of "Coming into Matter" a collective of sculptures that brings together the works of 13 artists from different generations and techniques, and includes works by great teachers from the collection of the Museum of Contemporary Art of Panama, Zachrisson, Lindsay, De Obaldía and Viteri, among other artists and that will be up to February 25.
That portentous cultural complex, "where art finds his home" has a multifunctional theater, 323 parking spaces, place for events and two auditoriums, among other facilities for students and general public to come up with at this surprising place.
