A Christmas journey through the most popular villances of Europe and Panama was the repertoire that the Metropolitan Youth Symphony Orchestra and the Panama Metropolitan Cork of the National Network of Panama Youth Orquestas and Cores of the Ministry of Culture (MiCultura) have been offering as part of the cultural entity's alliances with the European Union in Panama.
The musical notes that embellished the Church of Carmen from the more than 120 young talents of the Network of Orchestra and Youth Chors of Panama performed more iconic melodies of the Christmas period as Dorma, Dorma Bel Bamin (Italy), Noche de Paz (Austria), Hark The Herald Angels Seng of Mendelssohn (Germany), Al Mundo Paz, Watts (UK), and we come to the Portal, Jaén (Panama) among others.
At this concert a number of authorities expressed their satisfaction with the achievements achieved among them, Izabela Matusz, Ambassador of the European Union to Panama, expressed "2023 was a great deal of work and tonight we are pleased that for the second consecutive year we are with the Network celebrating a very useful year of bilateral and multilateral relations with shared interests, especially supporting cultural life."
Similarly, Gabriel González, Vice Minister of Culture, stated that "this Christmas concert of year's end, welcomes a central part of the 6,927 students that form the Network at national level, with each member of the Network as a composition of different ingredients: vocation, talent, effort and tenacity that have been modeled through accompaniment and gifts from his teachers who love what they do!."
At this concert organized by the European Union, both musical groups were accompanied by the Chorus of the National Sanctuary, directed by the teachers Alexis Fong Castillo and Paola Cuéllar in the orchestral and coral part respectively.
Also at the hearing were members of the Diplomatic Corps accredited to our country and members of the United Nations and other public and private organizations.
The European Union has been present in Panama since 2003, but it was only as soon as 2018 that the establishment of a Diplomatic Mission was officially established.
