< strong > Logranda through the "Beer of Books" interest in works by national authors < / strong >

The Ministry of Culture (MiCultura), as a way to promote reading especially by national authors, implements a project called "Beer of Books," which means that the public can exchange books from his personal library that they have already read and get others that are of interest to them.

In this respect, the fourth version of this activity was with great success and was put as a stage the heritage site of the Convent Santo Domingo, known as Arco Chato, where public of all ages, approached with his books and changed them, with works especially by Panamanian authors winners of the most important literary awards in the country.

The offer of this event was complemented with TanCubo workshops, where participants learned basic percussion principles as well as strengthening aspects of daily living as respect, discipline, teamwork and concentration.

They were also able to enjoy charms and to have copies of our national identity such as the pollera congo and the mount and our flora and fauna among other images that were at the best of our children.

"The public's response has been quite good, because it comes with his books to change them to get them and we believe we have to do so more often, because we have to read them more often, and through them we connect ourselves to different worlds, and we have an opportunity to think about them and these activities invite families to put together a basic library at their place," said Priscilla Delgado, head of publications and public library co-ordinator at MiCultura.

Some of the visitors mentioned that they found out about social networks and saw an opportunity to buy another type of reading at no cost, as was the case with Eduardo Ferguson, who brought Juan David Morgan's "with fiery lights of glory" and chose to get his name "The Bicentennial Realty" from his late writer Andrés Villa, who considers his name to be quite striking as they are about the history of Panama.

The project "Betrayal of Books" began in September 2022 with the first edition at Andres Bello Park and so far have been many people who have interacted their books, others simply offer them as a gift so that there will be more variety and a great brotherhood of readers.
