< strong > NGÄBE BULLE STUDIANTS AMPLIANTS ON THE HISTORY and CULTURE OF PANAMA < / strong >

Students and teachers at the Universidad Rio Chiriquí of Ngäbe Bugle region received information related to different historic and heritage sites in Panama and Colón, during an educational tour organized by the Ministry of Culture from October 15 to 18.

A total of 31 students attending the last year of this training with personnel from the office of Casco Antiguo (OCA), two parents and 6 teachers visited for the first time, such as: The Royal Customs of Portobelo, the Afro-masquerage Museum, Miraflores locks, the Old Panama Archaeological Site, Las Garzas Palace, headquarters of the President of the Republic, the Biomuseus and the Casco Antiguo.

The Minister of Culture (MiCultura) Giselle González Villarrué expressed to the visitors that "the basis of this experience is that you know their roots and learn from where they come from" and urged them to move forward, studying with their dreams and designing their future.

"Life is about making the right decision, achieving what they want in their lives and keeping them from dreaming" and to achieve it we have to go the right way.

Meanwhile, Vercelio Córdoba, a teacher at Rio Chiriquí's school, expressed his gratitude for his tour and his attention and noted that "this opportunity is unforgettable for his and his students, who for the first time, some of them have visited Panama."

"The difference I'm making will be marked by every student. The only way to get ahead is by studying, as one dreams, everything can be," added his teacher, Cordoba.

At the same time, student Yuliseth Robinson emphasized that this tour served to gain a "training from the places we visited, about the locks, what and how they are and how they work, the history of Panama at every museum and the journey we did to independently ourselves."

Also the student, Sdaryn Norths, commented that "on this tour that MiCultura has prepared us, we have visited very beautiful locations. Most important, as we have felt, as students, as a person, that we are important and unique and that we deserve this."

"A fulfilled dream that we will remember and we hope that other youth as we can enjoy this experience," she added.

That activity forms part of the actions of the OCA Cultural Participation and Inclusion Programme with the support of the Canal Museum, the Biomuso, the President of the Republic, the Old Panama Board, the Panama Canal Authority and the San Felipe Communal Board.
