< strong > WITH CONCRETAN PROPOSALS FULL SECOND OPEN FUNCTION FROM MiCultura with CIVIL SOCIETY < / strong >

The proposal for two initiatives aimed at strengthening public policies with respect to cultural matters concluded the second Open Fairy where the Ministry of Culture (MiCultura) offers an accountability to different sectors of civil society, art and the media.

The executive director of the Centre for Historical, Anthropological and Cultural Research (CIHAC-AIP), Marixa Lasso and the national director and deputy director of Cultural Heritage, Linette Montenegro and Itzel Quiros participated as exhibitors.

Following the exhibitions, where the actions that have been put forward at CIHAC AIP and the Cultural Heritage area were put forward, the attendees expressed concerns and asked about the work of both areas of work but at the same time put forward proposals that were welcomed by the MiCultura administration.

The Minister González Villarrué expressed his satisfaction with the result of this second Open Fairy with artistic, cultural, civil society and neighbours of the Casco Antiguo because it allows a feedback with the authorities of the Ministry.

The incumbent of Culture emphasized the initiative of filmmaker Arturo Montenegro to create a campaign for proper management and avoid the accumulation of waste and that of architect Manuel Choy to conduct an inventory of cultural heritage throughout the country but with an emphasis on the town of Colón.

The president of the Panamanian Society of Engineers and Architects (SPIA) Jorge Isaac Peres referred to the Cabildo as a "democratic, transparent and mainly construction space and thus became an opportunity for citizens to contribute to that cultural identity."

Meanwhile, the coordinator of the Commission of Patrimonians and Historical Sites, of the SPIA, Manuel Choy emphasized this type of meeting have to be "constantly done to get to know and exchange ideas that will enrich the inputs we can make with a view to saving national heritage."
