"The strength of our women was born from history, from the sum of different cultures of our native peoples and from the inheritance of people of African descent" were part of the words of Giselle González Villarrué, Minister of Culture during his participation at the Regional Forum for Women with Impact.

The National Assembly, the National Institute for Women and the Founding of Lores have been organizing a number of national areas, especially those that have been empowered with respect to politics, comarcas and arts and with regard to security and civil society and representatives of the security stations.

The event that was held as part of the commemoration of International Women's Day was appropriate to recognize the path of three outstanding women as are Nidia Quijano of the Portobelo and San Lorenzo patronate, Miriam of Bern by his Bern Foundation and Eusebia Copote as part of the first line of action with the COVID-19 pandemic as national director of nursing.

The meeting represented a space for reflection to strengthen the awareness of all people about the relevance of addressing gender issues as well as knowledge about the rights and participation of women in Panamanian society.

The head of the Panamanian cultural portfolio highlighted in her speech the actions and legacy of women such as Clara González de Behringer, Gumercinda páez, Marta Matamoros, Telma King and Reina Torres de Arauz, tirelessly defending the Panamanian historic heritage.
