The cultural community, at its various events, artists, writers, dancers and folklorists, among others received the first Open Fairy from the Ministry of Culture (MiCultura) at an event held at the Chat Arco at the Casco Antiguo of Panama City.

The incumbent of MiCultura, Giselle González Villarrué opened the event by expressing the entity's willingness to have a continuous dialogue with society to share projects and programs that have been developed at different national and regional level to strengthen cultural policies and that this type of event will continue throughout its administration.

One of the aims of the creation of the Ministry of Culture, as stated by González Villarrué, is to leave the "very strong foundations and that they stand as a firm basis for a medium and long term construction to reap what we are building today."

The conference was also attended by national directors such as Enrique Noel, Director of Cultural Rights and Citizenship, Yessenia Sánchez, Director of the Office of the Casco Antiguo (OCA), Isabel Burgos, Director of The Arts, Linette Montenegro, Director of Cultural Heritage and Ellis Newman, Director of Creative Economics, who at his time put forward the issues related to his leadership.

Themes such as the recovery of San Lorenzo Castle, Portobello, national contest of literature, the TransStmal Colonial Route, the General Law of Culture, culture as a human right, the Satellite Account, Culture and the conservation of the Casco Antiguo, among many other issues, have been addressed at this first discussion.

The representatives of the different cultural trade unions that participated in this event expressed their concerns and suggestions at the cultural level and that, as far as MiCultura's directors are concerned, they have been interested.
