Association of copyright and related users meet with Minister of Culture

The Minister of Culture, Giselle González Villarrué, held his first meeting with representatives of copyright and related rights users and with his National Director of Copyright, Eric Velasco.
That meeting addressed the need to unify the legal criteria for applying the Copyright Act and to have its own regulations.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the Panamanian Association of Hotels (APATEL) and the Panamanian Association of Private Hospitals and Expand Association (APR) and the Panamanian Association of Shopping Centres (APACECOM) and the Panamanian Association of Restaurant and Purpose (ARAP).
After listening to the concerns of representatives of trade unions, the Minister of Culture made a commitment to give them the support of the institution so that the law will have regulations that are consistent with technological developments, that will allow for the growth of the artistic and cultural sector and the orderly enforcement of the law, thus generating confidence in trade unions of users.
