On the occasion of the 3350 anniversary of Panama's move to Casco Antiguo, the Ministry of Culture (MiCultura) organized a talk with the Conservationist, Almir Alba, architect Itzela Quiros, sub-director of Cultural Heritage and Dr. Samuel Robles, musicologist at the Center for Historical, Anthropological and Cultural Research (CIHAC).

That historic meeting had been intended to remember that it was January 21, 1673, after an attack with Old Panama by the Spanish Corsary Henry Morgan moved the town to what today is referred to as the Casco Antiguo.

The event highlighted two events, including the importance of the material and cultural heritage of Casco Antiguo and the second a tribute to the book "Architecture, urbanism and society. The colonial housing of Panama" by historian Alfredo Castillero Calvo.

At first, the exhibitors highlighted issues such as evolution in political matters, architecture, music, gastronomy, festivities, rituals and beliefs.

Thus, as far as Alfredo Castillero Calvo's work is concerned, it is considered to be a literary contribution about the reality of colonial Panama listening to the exhibitions of Dr.Marixa Lasso, Tomas Mendizábal and the complainant Alfredo Castillero Calvo.

The Minister of Culture, Giselle González Villarrué felt that an event at this level was conducive to clear up incognites, gain valuable historic information and find answers to new concerns and questions.
